The Benarasi saree is one of the most exquisite and traditional forms of Indian sarees, originating from Varanasi (also known as Banaras or Kashi) in Uttar Pradesh, India. Traditionally made from pure silk (Katan), although versions in organza (kora), georgette, and satin also exist. The finest varieties are woven with gold or silver zari (metallic thread), giving them a regal appearance.Handwoven on traditional looms, often requiring weeks or even months to complete a single saree. Uses brocade weaving, where patterns are created during the weaving process by adding extra weft threads of zari.
